    Love. Wedding. Repeat-Kids Movie Review

    It’s wedding day for Hayley (Eleanor Tomlinson) and Roberto (Tiziano Caputo). They’re getting married in a beautiful hotel in Rome, the weather is ideal, and their family and friends are there to help celebrate. Hayley’s big brother Jack (Sam Clafin) will walk her down the aisle, though Jack is a little preoccupied. He discovers that Dina (Olivia Munn), an American reporter who he once had a crush on, is single and is at the wedding. Big bro isn’t the only one preoccupied, Hayley’s old boyfriend crashes the wedding and mayhem ensues. So many things could go awry at the wedding. Interestingly, we see alternate versions of the same wedding, hoping to find the perfect day for Hayley and Roberto.

    Greater-Kids Movie Review

    Brandon Burlsworth (Chris Severio) is an overweight and awkward 12 year old boy. He loves to sit on the couch with some good snacks and watch TV. Having said that, he has big dreams, a strong faith and dedication to fulfilling his main goal in life…to play football for University of Arkansas! Brandon was raised by a loving single mom, he’s estranged from his alcoholic father and very close to his older brother Marty. With his strong work ethic and dedication he fulfills his goal of becoming a Razorback. Based on a true story, Greater is an inspirational sports drama  about one of the most successful “walk-on” players in college football history.

    Overall this is a wonderful sports drama, parents need to be aware of the mature subject matter of death.

    Yesterday-Kids Movie Review

    Jack’s (Himesh Patel) life long dream is to be a singer, though there’s a problem…his songs are boring and he’s just not that good. When he eventually realizes that he needs to get a real job his life dramatically changes. While Jack is riding his bike there’s a blackout and he’s suddenly hit by a bus and knocked off his bike flat on his face. When he wakes up his two front teeth are missing and his face is covered with bruises. When Jack gets home from the hospital he gets together with his best friend and manager, Ellie (Lily James) and some their group of friends. Jack crabs his guitar and he starts to play The Beatles’ iconic song, “Yesterday.” Jack soon realizes that none of his friends recognize the song and he also discovers that he’s the only person in the world who’s ever heard the Beatles’ songs. Jack’s life long dream just might come true after all.

    The Kid Who Would Be King-Kids’ Movie Review

    Could a modern-day English boy ever become king? Alex Elliot (Louis Ashbourne Serkis) is an ordinary 12 year old boy who occasionally gets bullied in school. One day as he’s running away from the bullies he ends up falling into a construction site where he finds King Arthur’s famous sword, Excalibur. Alex’s life dramatically changes as he encounters the wizard Merlin (Patrick Stewart) who appears in teen form in Alex’s school. Merlin explains that Alex is the new king and needs to defeat the wicked villain Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson). Now Alex gathers a group of friends, and converts his enemies to allies, to form a new round table, and defeat the evil villain. Maybe an ordinary 12 year old boy can become king.

    • The villain is a scary looking creature with a scary army. The army is filled with mud creatures who have creepy eyes and dangerous weapons. They attack the kids and invade one of the  boys’ homes.
    • Evil trees and skeleton’s attack the kids.
    • There are numerous battles and chase scenes with the villain, her army vs.the kids.
    • We see the villain breath fire and destroy part of the school.

    • “We hear “damn,” and “hell.” We also hear; “stupid,” “shut up,” “ignorant buffoon”, “liar,” and “bully.”

    Overall this is a wonderful family movie for kids ages 10 and up. Parents need to be aware of the violent content throughout the film.

    Mary Poppins Returns-Kids Movie Review

    She flies through the air on a kite, has a talking umbrella, and is the best nanny around. Her name is Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt). Set in the 1930’s, Mary Poppins returns to Cherry Tree Lane, however this time she comes to take care of Michael Banks’ (now an adult) three children. Michael (Ben Whishaw)  is going through a hard time as his wife had recently passed away and now his house is getting repossessed. Mary Poppins comes back to save the day and add a little fun and adventure for the beloved Banks’ family. Mary Poppins Returns is a sequel to the 1964 classic Mary Poppins.
