    Talking Points:

The two main characters,  Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds, were great in their roles, they were funny and entertaining.

Nick was a good guy. When he stole some gold from a drug dealer’s apartment, he felt so guilty that he wanted to return it. He realized his mistake and wanted to do the right thing.

Kids may get scared by all the grotesque violence and creepy monsters in the film. Details under violent content.

    Sexual Content: Moderate

    • Once deceased, Nick (Ryan Reynolds) and Roy (Jeff Bridges) don’t look like themselves to the living. Nick appeared as an elderly oriental gentleman, and Roy appeared as a beautiful woman with long blonde hair, who wore revealing outfits. Men flirted with her throughout the film.

    • The film was filled with slap stick violence. We saw character’s get hit by cars and buses, knocked in the head by metal signs and slabs of cement.
    • A dead man ripped his own arm off to escape from handcuffs.
    • Kids may get scared by the monstrous creatures in the film.  They have  four arms, multiple mouths and deep black cracks in their faces.

    • We saw explosions from car and truck accidents.
    • A woman was stabbed, we saw blood pouring out of her body.

R.I. P.D is a strange film with a lot of grotesque violence, however the storyline may appeal to kids. Depending on the child this is appropriate for kids ages 12 and up.
