    Ant-Man and the Wasp-Kids’ Movie Review

    Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) broke the superhero rules and is suffering the consequence. He is under house arrest because he tried to help out Captain America. Meanwhile Scott’s former associates Hope VanDyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) and her father, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) desperately need Scott to put on his Ant-Man suit and team up with Wasp to protect the world from a new and powerful villain. Ant-Man and the Wasp is Marvel’s sequel to Ant-Man.

    Overall this is a fun, action packed superhero film. Parents need to be aware of the action violence, though not as much as the previous Marvel films.

     

     

     

    Tag-Kids’ Movie Review

    “Tag…you’re it.” Tag is a popular American game that kids typically play at recess or with their neighborhood friends. Adults sometimes play as well.  Tag is a true story about five childhood friends, now in their forty’s, who declare May as their month to play tag. They love the game, but more importantly they’ve maintained their friendships as they’ve played for thirty years. However, one of the guys, Jerry, has never been caught which really irritates the other four. So they make it their goal to tag Jerry at his wedding. This story is so unbelievable that when a reporter hears about these guys she follows them and publishes the story in the Wall Street Journal. Now we’re it!!!

    Overall this is a fun and entertaining film. Having said that this is an R rated film so kids under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Parents need to be aware of the excessive profane language throughout the film.

     

    Incredibles 2-Kids’ Movie Review

    Our favorite superhero family is back! Bob/Mr. Incredible (voice by Craig T. Nelson), Helen/Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) and their three kids; Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack (Eli Fucile). In this film Elastigirl is sent on a special mission and is separated from the family. Reluctantly, Mr. Incredible stays home and takes care of the family duties, while Elastigirl is hard at work. Initially things don’t go very well when Mr. Incredible discovers Jack-Jack’s unique super powers, Dash’s difficulty with math homework, and Violet’s love life problems. However, when the family and Frozone (Samel L. Jackson) realize that a mysterious villain is in town, they must reunite to use their powers and work together to save the world.

    • Jack-Jack uses his newly found powers as he clones himself, becomes inflamed,  shoots laser beams out of his eyes, and turns into a demon.
    • There is a flashback to an armed robbery which may scare young kids.

    • We hear “h-ll,” “damned,” and “what the…”

    Drug and Alcohol Content: Mild

    • We see characters drinking cocktails.

    Will Kids Like It? Yes

    • I interviewed kids ages 8 to 18 who all loved the film. A few girls said they could see it again.

    Overall this is a fun and entertaining film for the whole family. Depending on the child, Incredibles 2 appropriate for kids ages 8 and up.

    Ocean’s 8- Kids’ Movie Review

    She’s been in prison for five years and is planning the biggest jewelry heist in American history! As soon as Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), who’s Danny Ocean’s younger sister – from the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy, is released from prison she immediately reconnects with her partner in crime, Lou (Cate Blanchett). Debbie’s goal is to steal a Cartier diamond necklace worth $150.00 million from actress Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway). The actress will be wearing the gorgeous necklace at the Met’s annual Costume Gala in Manhattan. Since this will be a difficult crime, Debbie and Lou recruit a group of unique woman to help them, as they meticulously plan to pull off the most audacious heist of the century!

    Show Dogs-Kids Movie Review

    Max is an NYPD police dog, and he’s the best around! Max can solve all kinds of crimes and he can do it on his own. However, the human police officers like to involved, which really irritates Max.  Eventually, Max is forced to work with FBI agent, Frank (Will Arnett). Max and Frank are assigned on a special case to find a stolen baby panda. They discover that the smugglers will be at an elite dog show in Las Vegas, so the detective duo heads to Vegas. Max goes under cover as a contestant in the show to get the scoop and ultimately rescue the panda along with some other animals who have been captured.
