Deadpool 2-Kids’ Movie Review
Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is back as Deadpool; a disfigured man with superpowers. In this sequel Wade/Deadpool suffers from the loss of a loved one. He eventually decides to help a troubled young boy who’s been abused his whole life, and who is also wanted by an evil time-traveling mutant named Cable (Josh Brolin). Wade/Deadpool realizes that he’ll need some help to take on the evil villain so he brings together a group of fellow mutants and they try to save the young boys’ life.

- We briefly see Wade’s baby genitals. In this scene his legs/pelvic are regrowing.
- Wade and his wife are shown passionately kissing.
- There are some sexual references and flirting.
- We briefly see a character’s IUD.

- There is a lot a graphic violence throughout the film. Characters are decapitated, tortured and crushed to death. We see limbs cut off and shot off.
- People that are crushed, impaled, run over by trucks, and burned by acidic vomit.
- There are numerous bloody injuries and explosions.
- There is a sad death scene of a main character.
- Children are abused.

- We hear the f-word throughout the film, we also hear “s–t,” a–hole,” a–,” “d–k,” “c–t, “bitch,” and “c–k.”

- We see Wade smoking a cigarette, drinking vodka in a bar, and inhaling cocaine.
Will Kids Like It? Yes
- I interviewed some teenage boys who liked the film and thought it was funny.
Overall this is an entertaining R rated superhero film. Due to the R rating, kids under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Parents need to be aware of the excessive violence and profane language throughout the film.
Life of the Party-Kids’ Movie Review
She purchases her Archaeology 301 book, her Decatur University sweatshirt, and eagerly moves into the dorms. Deanna (Melissa McCarthy) is not your typical college student, she’s been a dedicated mother and housewife whose husband unexpectedly leaves. Feeling regret that she didn’t finish her bachelor’s degree, Deanna ends up back to the college she previously attended, and it’s the college that her daughter currently attends. Now this middle aged college student hangs out with her daughter, and her daughter’s sorority sisters, and discovers what she missed years ago.

- Deanna frequently hooks up with a frat boy and spends the night with him.

- There is some silly slapstick violence. Deanna is hit with a paddle during sorority initiation.
- Several women destroy a beautiful wedding reception.
- Two women get in a fight: they push and hit one another.

- We see many frat parties with college students drinking (some are underage).
- Characters’ drink shots of tequila, wine and beer.
- Some girls accidentally eat chocolate bark infused with marijuana. We see them very high.
Will Kids Like It? Yes
Overall this is a funny and entertaining film. Having said that, parents need to be aware of the sexual references, drug and alcohol contents, and moderate profane language throughout the film.
Sherlock Gnomes-Kids’ Movie Reviews
Gnomeo and Juliet are moving to a beautiful, but small, new garden…in London! As the newly married couple tries to cope with some difficulties in their marriage, they discover there’s danger in the garden, all their London gnome friends have vanished. Apparently garden ornaments have been disappearing quite frequently in London. So Sherlock Gnomes, the sworn protector of London’s garden gnomes, and his ardent associate, Watson, start their investigation while trying to figure out who’s kidnapping the adorable gnomes. Eventually, Gnomeo and Juliet want to be involved in Sherlock’s mission so they force Sherlock to let them join in and help find London’s gnomes. Sherlock Gnomes is the sequel to the 2011 Gnomeo & Juliet film.

Paddington 2- Kids’ Movie Review
“Be kind and polite and the world will be right.” That’s a quote from Paddington’s Aunt Lucy. He loves his aunt and frequently quotes her. Paddington wants to find the perfect gift for his aunt’s 100th birthday. He eventually sees a pop-up book about London in his friend’s antique shop. However, the book is very expensive so Paddington does odd jobs until he can afford it. Unfortunately, a mysterious thief steals the book right before Paddington goes to buy it. Sadly, Paddington is wrongly accused of the robbery and is sentenced to prison. Now the adventure begins as the adorable, fun loving bear becomes a prisoner and charms all the inmates. Paddington 2 continues the story of Paddington bear who lives happily with his adopted family in London.

- During a robbery Paddington chases a thief through a store and down the streets.
- Paddington is surrounded by many scary looking inmates when he’s in prison. Initially they are intimidating and mean to the poor bear, but they eventually befriend him.
- A villain has a sword and fights with a main character.
- Paddinton falls in a river and nearly drowns.
- There’s a very sad scene when Paddinton’s adopted parents don’t visit him on visiting day in prison. We see Paddington in bed crying as he thinks they no longer love him.

- Name calling such as “coward,” and “weirdo.”
Drug and Alcohol Content: Mild
- Champagne is served on a train ride.

Overall, this is a wonderful movie for the whole family.
Coco-Kids’ Movie Review
Miguel (voice of Anthony Gonzalez), a young Mexican boy, loves music. He desperately wants to follow his dream of becoming a musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. However, Miguel’s family despises music and even bans it from their house. Miguel is supposed to follow in the family business crafting fine shoes. When Miguel takes his music interest a little too far he suffers a serious consequence and is transported to the colorful and vibrant, Land of the Dead. There, Miguel teams up with an interesting skeleton and embarks on an exciting journey. Coco is a wonderful Disney/Pixar film that explores the traditions of the Day of the Dead.

- I interviewed a 10 year old girl who loved the movie. She enjoyed the characters and the music. I also interviewed her 4 year old brother who said he loved it. They didn’t get scared, and the film held their attention.
Overall this is an entertaining film for the whole family. Depending on the child, I recommend this for kids ages 5 and up.
