Boo 2: A Madea Halloween-Kids’ Movie Review
Madea (Tyler Perry) and her crazy relatives are back, and so is the annual Halloween fraternity party. Tiffany (Diamond White), Madea’s grandniece, has just turned 18. She’s beautiful, independent and thrilled to be going to the local college frat party. This year the party is set to take place at an eerie campground where teens had allegedly been killed. When Madea discovers that Tiffany is going to the party, she drags her elderly gang along to spy and protect her lovely grandniece. Things don’t go as planned and mayhem ensues!!! Boo 2! A Madea Halloween is a sequel to 2016’s Boo! A Madea Halloween, and is set one year later.

Happy Death Day- Kids’ Movie Review
Teresa “Tree” Gelbman (Jessica Rothe) is a college student who enjoys her lifestyle as a cute sorority girl. However, Tree’s life dramatically changes on her birthday. She wakes up hungover and in the bed of a student named Carter, whom she had just met the night before. When Tree leaves Carter’s dorm she gets a creepy feeling as she’s walking through campus towards the Kappa House. It ends up that Tree is stuck in a time loop where she suffers a violent death over and over again. Frightened and scared, Tree realizes she must relive the day over again until she discovers who murdered her.

Overall this is an entertaining horror film with comedic overtones. Parents need to be aware of the violence, language and sexual contents.
It- Teen Movie Review
It’s summer and the young teens are supposed to play outside with their friends and have fun! That’s the initial plan for a group of middle school outcasts from the town of Derry, Maine. Set in 1988, the young teens start their summer by running away from the cruel and evil bullies in their small town. That’s not their only problem. Things get creepy as kids start disappearing. Luckily, their new friend, Ben, discovers that strange things seem to happen in cycles of 27 years which leads them to a well in the basement of a creepy old house. Bill, a boy in the group whose brother disappeared, is determined to stop whatever killed his brother and has the help of his group of misfit friends. It is based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel.

- Teens go swimming in their underwear and the boys admire the teenage girl with them. She’s shown in her bra and panties.
- An abusive father acts in a creepy and sexual way toward his teenage daughter.
Violent/Disturbing Content: Excessive
- The clown is very scary and will terrify kids. He’s shown periodically throughout the film.
- Lots of bullying. A bully carves up a kid’s stomach with a knife and stabs a man with the same knife.
- Bullies shoot guns, kick, punch and beat up their peers.
- There are scenes showing a lot of blood. In one scene a bathroom is covered in blood and the kids clean it up.
- We see kids beating the clown with sharp objects.
- We see the clown bite a child’s arm off.
- A clown is stabbed through the face.
- A sheep is killed with a bolt gun by one of the bullies.

- The story involves a group of middle school aged kids which will appeal to kids. I interviewed some teenage boys who enjoyed it. They were scared, but thought some parts were funny.
Overall this is an entertaining horror film, one that teens will be eager to see. Parents need to be aware of the excessive and disturbing violence, also the excessive language.
47 Meters Down- Kids’ Movie Review
Nothing like a vacation in Mexico. Beautiful resorts, crystal clear water, and entertaining night clubs. Sisters Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt) are definitely enjoying their relaxing getaway in Mexico until Kate decides they need some adventure. Besides, Lisa’s boyfriend dumped her before the trip because she’s so boring so Kate wants to get her sister out. After a night of dancing and drinking they meet two handsome local men who invite them on a shark-watching expedition the next day. Now the adventure begins as Lisa and Kate join their new friends on a rickety old boat. Shortly after the girls enter the cage the cable snaps and the shark cage sinks to the bottom of the ocean…47 meters down. With limited oxygen and white sharks circling nearby, Lisa and Kate must try and remain calm and figure out how to survive.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies-Teen Movie Review
“A woman is either highly trained or highly refined. One cannot be both in such times,” said Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James). Set in the 19th century England, the film centers around the four Bennet sisters, all who have been highly trained to kill zombies. In the quiet English village where they live, the dead are coming back to life to terrorize the land and it’s people. Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) is the determined sister who desperately wants to destroy the zombies, however she is distracted by the arrogant Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley). Between the romances, the sword fights and the zombies, the Bennet sisters and their suitors come together to try and save their country.

- This is a very unique film and interesting film. Though very violent, teens who have read Jane Austen’s book, Pride and Prejudice, and those who also like zombies movies/ TV shows, will be highly entertained by this film.

- The women where revealing dresses, we see a lot of cleavage.
- We see several couples kiss.
- As the Bennet girls strap their knives in their boots, we see their lacy undergarments and bare legs.
Violent/Disturbing Content:
- We see numerous grotesque battle scenes with the undead zombies. Creatures are stabbed, slaughtered, thrown in ovens to be baked alive, and blown up.
- The zombies are scary looking creatures, their faces are bloody and deformed.
- Humans fight as well, we see several brutal scenes. Character’s are shown hitting and kicking one other. We see several sword fights.
- A man is shown choking a girl, she finally fights back and throws him into a pillar.
- We see bodies of soldiers with holes in their heads, as someone stole their brains.
- After too much alcohol consumption, Mrs. Bennet bites her daughter.

- We hear “b–tard,” and “h–l.”

- Characters are shown drinking at a ball. Mrs. Bennet drinks too much and gets drunk.
Will kids/ Teens Like It? Yes
- I interviewed some teenagers, ages 16 and up, who loved the film. They’re fans of the TV series, The Walking Dead, and loved the zombie aspect of 19th century movie.
Overall Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is an entertaining film for those who like zombie movies. Parents need to be aware of the excess violence. Depending on the child, I recommend this for kids ages 13 and up.
