A Haunted House – Teen Movie Review

A Haunted House centers around the lives of a young couple named Malcom (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins). Life was going well, the love birds finally moved into their dream house in Los Angeles. Malcolm was so excited that he even decided to record everything. However, not long after they moved in together, strange things began to happen. There were unexplained noises, doors began to open by themselves, and their sex life was on hold. Malcolm eventually found out that it wasn’t the house that was haunted, it was the girl. The Impossible – Kids Movie Review

At first I didn’t want to see this movie, and now I can’t stop thinking about it. The Impossible centers around the lives of one family and their fight for survival during the 2004 Thailand tsuanmi. Henry (Ewan McGregor), his wife Maria (Naomi Watts), and their three sons were at a beautiful Thailand resort over Christmas vacation. The sun was shining as Maria was lounging by the pool, while Henry and the boys were playing in the water. What started out to be the perfect vacation, changed within minutes. The blender at the poolside bar stopped working, the wind began to blow, and the palm trees started to shake as a 90- foot wave came crashing over everything. The Impossible, based on a true story, is a gut-wrenching drama about a loving, compassionate family and the struggles they endured as they tried to survive the worst natural disaster in modern history. Parental Guidance-Kids Movie Review

Artie (Billy Crystal) and Diane (Bette Midler) are a pair of old-school grandparents who agreed to babysit their three grandchildren, while the kids’ parents were out of town. However, they didn’t realize what they’d be getting themselves into. With the grandparents’ traditional ways, and the kids’ (and their parents) modern day ways, this made for an interesting few days. Parental Guidance is an entertaining movie which shows the importance of family and the generational difference that comes along with it. Continue reading

Les Miserable – Teen Movie Review

Les Miserable, set amid the 1832 French Revolution, is centered around the life of ex-prisoner Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman). When Valjean met a dying woman named Fontine (Anne Hathaway), he promised to raise and care for her young daughter, Cosette (Amanda Seyfried). Valjean took his role as an adopted father very seriously; he became a better man, which changed his life forever. Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, this is a powerful story about love, redemption and forgiveness; a story that will make you laugh and cry, and one you will not want to forget. Continue reading
