    Skyfall – Teen Movie Review

    Teen Movie Review for Skyfall

“OO7 reporting for duty.” James Bond (Daniel Craig) was happy to get back to work after accidentally being shot by his own agent, and falling from a bridge into the ocean. People thought he was dead, but Bond managed to survive, and it’s a good thing he did. The MI6 headquarters was under attack by an evil villain, named Silva. The only person who could save the agency and it’s leader M (Judi Dench) was Bond, James Bond. Skyfall is the 23rd installment of this action/adventure spy series.

    Talking Points:

Even though Bond sleeps around, drinks a lot of alcohol and kills people, he ultimately wants to serve and help others.

He believes that you must trust God, and to use your gifts wisely.

M (Judi Dench) kills people too, though sad when doing it, and she wishes that she didn’t have to. When M thought Bond had died, she wrote a very touching Eulogy for him.

M breaks rules to get the job done.

The villain is creepy and evil, he may frighten kids. He scared my 13 year old.

    Sexual Content: Moderate

    • Bond has a sexual encounters with 3 different women.
    • We see a women in Bond’s hotel room, she straddles him and erotically shaves his face.
    • We see Bond in the shower with a woman, making out, it’s implied he stays the night.

    Violent Content: Excessive

    • We see many characters die by explosions, car crashes, train accidents, and gun fire.
    • We see Bond strangle and kill someone under water.
    • There are shoot outs and several explosions throughout the film.
    • We see men lying dead in their own blood.
    • We hear stories of torture.
    • Bond takes a razor to his chest and removes shrapnel from an old wound. This was disgusting.

    Crude or Profane Language: Mild

    • The s-word is used about 6 times, we also hear “h—,” “d–n.”

    Drugs and Alcohol Content: Moderate

    • Bond drinks a lot of alcohol.
    • We see him pop pills.
    • As many Bond fans know, OO7 has trademark drink… vodka martini, which he says is “perfect.”

    Will Kids Like It? Yes

Those of you familiar with Bond movies know that typically Bond likes his women, his drinks and his gun. Skyfall is a thrilling adventure movie, however parents need to be aware of the excessive violence and the moderate sexual content. Depending on the child, this movie is appropriate for teenagers.
