Mr. Peabody And Sherman- Kids Movie Review
“Every dog should have a boy,” that’s what Mr. Peabody (voice of Ty Burrell) says about his mischievous son Sherman (voice of Max Charles). Mr. Peabody is an extremely intelligent talking dog who has adopted a boy named Sherman. The two live in a New York City penthouse: Sherman goes to school like most 7 year old boys, and Mr. Peabody is a loving dedicated father who takes care of the house and brings home the bacon. Peabody and Sherman also like to have fun! They do a lot of traveling in their special device that Peabody made..a time machine. The two often travel back in history, they’re even on a first names basis with George Washington. However things get complicated when Sherman takes out the time machine with a fellow classmate named Penny (voice Ariel Winter). They accidentally rip a hole in the universe effecting the most important events in world history. Now the adventure begins as Mr. Peabody tries to rescue his son from a disastrous situation. Based on The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show, Mr. Peabody And Sherman is a wonderful animated film that most kids will enjoy.

Children will get a little history lesson as Mr. Peabody and Sherman travel back in time. We learn about the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror, the Trojan War, King Tut, George Washington, Leonardo da Vinci and many more historical figures and events.

- King Tut is very flirtatious, and wants to marry Sherman’s friend Penny (who’s 7).
Violent Content: Excessive
- As Mr. Peabody and Sherman travel back in time, we see many wars and battles. When they arrive in Paris during the French Revolution we see Mr. Peabody in a sword fight.
- In Troy, Sherman joins the Greek army during the Trojan War, we see fighting.
- In ancient Egypt Penny’s hand is nearly sliced open; Sherman and Peabody are trapped in a tomb.
- A character is Tasered and shocked.
- Characters are hit, bullied and pushed around.

- Mr. Peabody warns Sherman of a booby trap, Sherman laughs and says, “You said booby!”

Overall this is a wonderful animated film. Parents need to be aware of the violent scenes throughout the film. I recommend this for kids ages 5 and up.
